Chaldal Raises US$170K from Bangladesh Venture Capital

Bangladesh Venture Capital (BVCL), a local Venture Capital (VC) firm with a portfolio of over eight local startups, has announced an investment of US$170K in Chaldal. Chaldal is an e-commerce platform in Bangladesh specializing in grocery delivery services.
Waseem Alim, Founder & CEO of Chaldal, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We are delighted to have BVCL as an investor. The partnership opens up lots of strategic opportunities for Chaldal, and we look forward to deeper collaboration in the future."
Shawkat Hossain, CEO of BVCL stated, "Chaldal's e-commerce platform provides urban dwellers with convenient online grocery solutions, saving them valuable time amid the capital's traffic congestion."
Sabur Khan, Chairman of BVCL, emphasized the importance of this investment in fostering startup growth. "This demonstrates our commitment to nurturing the next generation of successful entrepreneurs," he stated.
To date, Chaldal has raised over US$30Mn, and the company was one of the first Bangladeshi startups to be part of Y Combinator.
