Edtech Startup Shikho Raises US$900K from Sturgeon Capital and Others

Shikho is a leading local ed-tech startup democratizing access to education, through its hyper-localized learning app designed especially for Bangladeshi students. Currently focused on the national curriculum for students across grades 9 to 12, Shikho creates and distributes high-quality learning resources in Bengali instruction.The startup recently raised investments amounting USD 900,000 in its seed round led by Sturgeon Capital along with Black Kite Capital, Goodwater Capital and local investor, Sajida Foundation.

By closing this round, Shikho is now the nation's highest-funded edtech enterprise. So far, the company has raised a total of USD 6.5 million, including USD 4 million in March 2022 and USD 1.3 million in August 2021. Learn Capital, Wavemaker Partners, Anchorless Bangladesh, and a few other well-renowned investors have invested in the earlier rounds of the company. Investments from such globally recognized investors signify the company's potential to redefine learning for Bangladeshi students.
